LeBron James and Cub Cadet Team Up to Find Best Trick Shot

Cub Cadet, a leader in outdoor power equipment, has teamed up with Cleveland Cavaliers forward and NBA All-Star LeBron James to launch a contest seeking America’s best basketball trick shot. In the Trick Shot Challenge, everyone from playground legends to backyard ballers are encouraged to upload their best trick shot to LeBronsTrickShotChallenge.com by June 28, 2008 for a chance to compete, one-on-one, against King James and fill their garage with $5,000 in the Cub Cadet lawn equipment of their choice.

“Cub Cadet is thrilled to continue our partnership with LeBron James and give fans this amazing opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity and face off against an NBA superstar,” said Jean Hlay, Cub Cadet’s senior executive vice president of sales and marketing. “In addition to cleaning up the court with their best trick shot, the winner will also receive $5,000 in Cub Cadet equipment to clean up their yard.”

All of the contestants’ trick shot videos will be available on the Web site’s online gallery where fans can view and vote for their favorite trick shot. Whether a contestant or not, anyone over the age of 13 that registers on LeBronsTrickShotChallenge.com is automatically entered to win $5,000 in cash or signed LeBron James merchandise in a sweepstakes drawing on or around August 4, 2008. Once a fan is registered on the site, every day they log onto the Web site and cast a vote, they will automatically submit additional entries for the sweepstakes, increasing their chances of winning.

“I see layups, fade away jumpers and slam dunks night in and night out, but now I’m teaming up with Cub Cadet to find the craziest trick shot out there,” said James. “I hope everyone gets the chance to enter this contest and I can’t wait to see what I’m up against!”

Once all of the trick shots have been entered, a team of Cub Cadet judges will select nine of the best videos as semi-finalists. Fans will vote for their favorite shot, narrowing the field to three finalists. LeBron James himself will then decide who he wants to challenge to a game of one-on-one. James will travel to the winner’s hometown for the game while Cub Cadet loads up their garage with the outdoor power equipment of their choice.

Contestants can upload their best trick shot to LeBronsTrickShotChallenge.com by June 28, 2008 and fans can view the videos and vote for their favorite trick shot between July 7, 2008 and July 27, 2008.
