The North American Equipment Dealers Association (NAEDA) announced June 30 the establishment of a government relations program in Canada.

John Schmeiser, who also serves as executive vice president of the Canada West Equipment Dealers Association (CWEDA), will manage the program from the CWEDA office in Calgary, Alberta. “John held various provincial and federal political and governmental jobs prior to joining CWEDA,” said Paul Kindinger, NAEDA president/CEO. “His experience in Canadian politics will be valuable in advising NAEDA’s board of directors about developing policies to address concerns that may affect Canadian dealers and their customers.”

CWEDA is one of three Canadian associations affiliated with NAEDA. The others are the Canada East Equipment Dealers Association in Aurora, Ontario, and the Association des Marchands de Machines Aratoires de la Province de Québec in Bedford, Quebec. In addition to advising NAEDA about Canadian issues, Schmeiser will also work with the executives of the other Canadian associations on government-related issues.

Schmeiser is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Arizona, and the Western Academy Broadcast College.

NAEDA’s legislative office in Canada is located at the CWEDA headquarters, 2435 Pegasus Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8C3. The office phone is (403) 250-7581.
