Shindaiwa holds successful 2008 distributor meeting

Shindaiwa recently completed a successful and informative 2008 North America distributor meeting in Portland, Ore. Thirty-five distributor principals representing 18 distributorships attended the event, along with top executives from Shindaiwa Corporation located in Hiroshima, Japan.

The meeting’s theme, “Landscape for Success,” refers to Shindaiwa’s efforts in laying out the support, marketing tools, product line and financial backing to make Shindaiwa a bigger and better brand. The busy two-day business meeting included detailed plans for the coming year and was punctuated with upbeat and positive presentations, demonstrations and activities.

Shindaiwa Corporation President Y. Asamoto kicked off the meeting stating the positive goals and direction for Shindaiwa in relation to North America and global markets. A key component is the 11 new products scheduled for production in 2009. Distributors had the opportunity to operate and critique the products during the meeting; they were thoroughly impressed, praising both the power and performance of the new models, especially the T282 trimmer and the EB802 and EB8520 backpack blowers. During the meeting, Kat Maeda, vice president of engineering at Shindaiwa Corporation, discussed Shindaiwa’s continued focus on quality. He re-emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to manufacturing high-performance, professional-quality products.

Celebrating 20th anniversaries as Shindaiwa distributors in 2008 are RCH Distributors, Inc., Memphis, Tenn., and Tidewater Power Equipment, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va. During the awards banquet, Shindaiwa recognized the valuable contributions of both distributors and presented them their choice of grandfather clocks complete with professional delivery and “white glove” set-up service.

“Confidence and commitment — that’s what this meeting is all about,” said Greg Imus, vice president of sales, marketing and technical services at Shindaiwa. “The goal with our meeting and various presentations is to build confidence among our distributors to garner their continued commitment to investing in and building up their Shindaiwa business.”
