Rocktober will return to the Green Industry & Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) 2009 with chart-topping groups performing for free October 30 at Louisville’s 4th Street Live! The Friday night concerts are sponsored by Ariens Company and Stens.
The Grass Roots will hit the stage at 7 p.m. Friday and are sure to rock with hits like, “Let’s Live For Today,” “Things I Should Have Said,” “Midnight Confessions,” “Temptation Eyes,” “Sooner or Later” and “Two Divided By Love.” This platinum-selling group charted 29 Top 100 Billboard singles from 1967 to 1972 — one of only nine groups to ever do so.
At 9 p.m., The Blues Brothers will kick off Friday night’s 4th Street Live! Street Party — also free to GIE+EXPO visitors. The Grammy Award-nominated group was founded in 1978 by Saturday Night Live comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. The band continues to perform with a rotation of guest singers and other band members.
“We are excited to bring these first-class acts to GIE+EXPO Friday night,” said Carol Dilger, corporate media manager for the Ariens Company. “GIE+EXPO participants won’t want to miss the excitement on 4th Street Live!”
GIE+EXPO is set for Thursday, Oct. 29, through Saturday, Oct. 31, in Louisville, Ky. The international trade show is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), and the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
GIE+EXPO Show Director Warren Sellers said, “High-caliber entertainment like this brings a lot of energy to the event. Exhibitor support makes it possible. Ariens’ and Stens’ concert sponsorship sets the pace for all GIE+EXPO exhibitors who look for ways to position their brands before their key audiences.”
Pre-registration for a three-day pass to GIE+EXPO is $10 per person. Trade show admission for those who wait to register onsite will be $50. To pre-register online and to reserve hotel rooms, go to www.gie-expo.com.
