Cub Cadet Commercial, Project EverGreen continue GreenCare for Troops

Cub Cadet Commercial is showing its dedication to volunteerism and continued commitment to provide free lawn care for military families by once again signing on as the sole financial underwriter for the GreenCare for Troops administration and coordination. The program, supported by more than 2,200 green industry professionals, provides free lawn and landscape services to military families whose major provider is serving overseas.

GreenCare for Troops is a nationwide outreach program coordinated by Project EverGreen that connects green industry professionals with the families of men and women serving the United States away from home. Since the program’s inception in 2006, more than 8,000 military families have requested support. Although dedicated industry professionals and volunteers are working hard to provide service, additional volunteers are always needed to fulfill all requests.

“GreenCare for Troops has done so much for so many in just three short years,” said Jeff Salamon, Cub Cadet director of marketing. “This type of initiative – to give back to those serving our country – deserves all the support that we as an industry can provide.”

Although Cub Cadet Commercial supports the program, additional resources are still greatly needed. Since GreenCare for Troops relies upon professionals and volunteers to provide assistance, support can come in any form, including:

Adopt one or two families by maintaining their lawns throughout the summer
Set up equipment loaner programs for citizen volunteers
Donate gas cards, money or transportation to help ease the burden of gas prices
Repair equipment for families that want to care for their own property, but don’t have a working mower
Raise awareness in your local community about how to get involved
