Charter Software releases new multi-store business management system

Charter Software on August 4 announced the initial release of ASPEN, its newest Windows-based business management system designed for equipment dealers. Charter’s Windows-based line of dealership business management solutions also includes DealerWin, a business management system that is currently installed in hundreds of locations throughout North America.

ASPEN is the result of three years development involving ongoing field testing with a dealer panel. Together with this panel, the team at Charter Software combined and applied its solid knowledge of the equipment industry to design and produce a business management system that addresses the evolving needs of growing dealerships. ASPEN answers the call for a scalable, reasonably priced multi-store business management solution, and also offers single-store dealers robust functionality.

“The equipment industry is going through some huge changes right now,” said Charter Software President Anne Salemo. “ASPEN is the culmination of what our customers told us they needed out of a business system to stay competitive and thrive in this industry. We are excited that we can now offer dealers a product with the functionality they’ve requested.”

ASPEN was developed using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server to offer dealers strong security, a reliable, manageable IT infrastructure, and easy integration with Microsoft applications. ASPEN’s similar look and feel to popular Microsoft programs allows for a smoother user transition to the system than from textbased systems. For example, accessing functions in ASPEN is quite similar to opening folders in Microsoft Outlook. Users can label frequently used functions as “Favorites” for instant access, and quickly move between multiple functions using forward and back buttons. With just a few mouse clicks, users can easily return to a screen with their previous work. “This ability to multi-task fits the way most dealers do business,” said Salemo.
