Stihl names apprenticeship coordinator

Stihl Inc. announced the appointment of Thomas Kuehne as apprenticeship coordinator on March 17. He will be responsible for creating and delivering apprentice curriculum for practical and theoretical training, supervising apprentice schedules and practical education and work, as well as working with various governmental agencies regarding program certifications and credits.


Kuehne joins Stihl with more than 27 years of experience, as well as a long history with the Stihl brand. Kuehne began his career at Gebr. Hoffmann as a machine mechanic apprentice in Düsseldorf, Germany. He then worked as a service engineer at Gebr. Hoffmann Germany and Chiron Werke + Chiron America, coming to the United States in 1998. His most recent position with Chiron America was as manufacturing supervisor with responsibilities in the training department as instructor for customer and in-house training.


Kuehne holds a Trade Master degree in machine tool mechanics from the Handwerkskammer Düsseldorf (German education system) and has completed a 4-year apprenticeship program as a machine tool mechanic.
