Briggs & Stratton holds ribbon-cutting ceremony at newly remodeled facility

Briggs & Stratton Corporation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Poplar Bluff, Mo., facility on Feb. 17. The company has made significant investments in the facility during the past 18 months to consolidate its operations into one state-of-the-art focus factory to set the stage for new, innovative and highly valued OHV engine designs. Briggs & Stratton’s Poplar Bluff facility manufactures small engines for the outdoor power equipment industry.

“Our entire team at Poplar Bluff has worked tirelessly to make sure our facility is well poised to launch new, innovative engine platforms, along with existing engine platforms on two newly reconditioned and reconfigured assembly lines,” said Mark Melloy, plant manager. “I am extremely proud of our team and what we have accomplished. This poises us well for the future in producing highly innovative engines for our OEMs.”

Among the ribbon-cutting ceremony attendees were Todd Teske, chairman, president & CEO of Briggs & Stratton; Joe Wright, senior vice president & president, Engines Group; and all of the employees at the Poplar Bluff facility, along with many community members, including Ed DeGaris, mayor of Poplar Bluff, and Steve Halter, president of the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce.
