Engine launch receives praise from marketing associations

Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power recently announced that it received multiple marketing awards for the launch of its 810-cc Vanguard engine line to the commercial landscape industry.

The Vanguard 810-cc engine launch won an Excellence Award from the Business Marketing Association of Milwaukee in the Public Relations Campaign category. In the American Marketing Association Lincoln (Neb.) Prism Awards, the engine launch received Merit Awards in both the Integrated PR and Marketing Communications and the Corporate Identity/Logo categories. It received a Prism Award — the top prize — in the Product Launch Campaign category.

“We knew from the beginning that we had a very special product to offer commercial landscapers and zero-turn OEMs in particular,” said Dan Roche, marketing manager for Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power. “To receive third-party accolades from these professional organizations for the way in which we chose to bring the 810 engine line to market reaffirms our approach.”

Launched in the fall of 2013, the new models have the optimum 810 cc of displacement for higher torque to take on the heavy workloads common in commercial mowing settings. This meets a growing landscape industry demand for higher-displacement engines and hence, higher-productivity mowers, according to Roche.

A new logo design, launch video, print and digital ads, editor event and media kit were all integrated as part of the product launch.
