New Ferris and Snapper Pro commercial walk-behind mowers boast centralized controls

For 2015, the Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group is rolling out the Ferris FW35CC and Snapper Pro SW35CC commercial walk-behind mowers built from the ground up to meet the demands of professional mowing crews. These dual-hydrostatic machines offer powerful engine options paired with 48-, 52- or 61-inch mowing decks and Centralized Control handlebars.

“The new controls are ergonomically designed so that operators experience less fatigue,” said Bill Shea, vice president of commercial sales for the Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group. “They provide improved hand positioning for maneuvering around trees, fences and other obstacles. They are also more efficient than traditional pistol-grip controls for operators using a sulky attachment.”

Engine options include a 26-gross-hp. Vanguard 810-cc or a 28-gross hp. Vanguard 810-cc EFI, a 20.5-gross-hp. Kawasaki FX651V or a 23.5-gross-hp. Kawasaki FX730V. Dual commercial Hydro-Gear ZT-3100 transaxles with 7-inch cooling fans are standard on all models.

The 10-gauge-steel decks feature aluminum greaseable spindles. The drive belt system is designed to provide uniform belt tension, which improves belt life and reduces maintenance. A deck mounting system makes leveling the deck a simple process, and a quick-adjust handle allows the operator to change cutting heights, from 1.5 to 5 inches, in one easy step. Large 20-inch tires enable climbing over curbs and rough terrain along with reducing deck bounce for consistent cut.

A 2-year limited warranty on the machine provides unlimited hours the first 24 months. Prices range from $5,599 to $6,899. Visit www.ferrismowers.com for more information on the FW35CC and www.snapperpro.com on the SW35CC.
