Milwaukee Tool is making a strong introduction into the outdoor power equipment industry with the announcement of three core landscape maintenance tools: the M18 FUEL string trimmer, M18 FUEL blower, and M18 FUEL hedge trimmer. These new tools have the power to outperform competitive 18-volt and higher-voltage solutions, and are fully compatible with more than 125 solutions on the M18 system.
“In our constant mission to listen to our users and deliver solutions based on their needs, we spent hundreds of hours researching with landscape maintenance professionals to understand their requirements for performance, durability and ergonomics,” said Andrew Lentz, product manager for Milwaukee Tool. “Unwilling to settle on sub-par performance, we continued to advance our technologies until we could provide a true productivity enhancement and innovative solution. By combining three exclusive innovations – the POWERSTATE brushless motor, new M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH DEMAND 9.0 battery pack, and REDLINK PLUS intelligence – our new outdoor power equipment delivers breakthrough performance that even outperforms higher-voltage cordless solutions on the market.”
M18 FUEL string trimmer
The M18 FUEL string trimmer has the power to clear thick brush, reaches full throttle in less than 1 second, and provides up to 1 hour of run time per charge. The motor is positioned in the rear of the trimmer to provide an ideal combination of power, balance and maneuverability. Through a variable-speed trigger, users can choose between low and high settings. High provides the power to clear thick brush, and low maximizes run time while offering plenty of power for grass trimming. A 16-inch cutting swath trims more grass in a single pass, increasing productivity. The trimmer features a single-piece, solid drive shaft that delivers more consistent power during heavy applications. A full-sized head holds more line and has a metal reinforced bump knob for longer life.
M18 FUEL blower
The M18 FUEL blower has the power to clear from 15 feet and provides the longest, max cfm run time. The POWERSTATE brushless motor and REDLITHIUM HIGH DEMAND 9.0 battery provide an outstanding combination of power and run time. The increased power can clear leaves, jobsite debris, and clippings in a single pass, and from a further distance, increasing productivity. At maximum power, it can handle difficult cleanup tasks, like moving leaves from grass, for up to 20 minutes. The blower features a variable-speed trigger for increased control. The ambidextrous cruise control allows the blower to be set to a desired power output, so the user’s hand can be relaxed, reducing fatigue. At 30 percent quieter than gas handheld solutions, the new blower is an excellent option for situations that require less noise, such as maintenance in the early morning or near occupied buildings.
M18 FUEL hedge trimmer
The M18 FUEL hedge trimmer has the power to cut 3/4-inch branches, cuts up to 30 percent faster, and provides up to 2 hours of run time per charge. The handle placement and weight distribution provide an ideal combination of balance and control. The 24-inch blade trims more material in a single pass, increasing reach and productivity, while the blade tip guard prevents damage to the property and the blades.
Similar to what Milwaukee Tool uses in its Sawzall, a robust slider crank mechanism provides increased durability and an all-metal gear case enclosure protects the critical gear drive system from jobsite abuse.
“Simply put, you don’t see other cordless outdoor power equipment with this beast of a mechanism,” said Lentz.
From landscaping professionals to trade professionals, Milwaukee Tool is committed to improving productivity by providing performance-driven and trade-focused solutions, so users can perform an entire day’s work on one battery system. These new tools are fully compatible with the entire M18 line, now offering more than 125 power tool products.
Available in January 2017, the new M18 FUEL string trimmer, M18 FUEL blower, and M18 FUEL hedge trimmer are a true testament to Milwaukee Tool’s focus on the user and investment in game-changing technology.
