BOB-CAT makes bold statement at GIE+EXPO 2017

In addition to sponsoring the free concerts at Fourth Street Live!, BOB-CAT unveiled a bold new look for its 2018 commercial zero-turn mower lineup at GIE+EXPO 2017. Designated as the RS Series, the new design will appear on the XRZ Pro RS, FastCat Pro RS, ProCat RS and Predator-Pro RS models. The XRZ Pro RS is a brand-new model for 2018.

The new RS Series models retain the familiar BOB-CAT green bodies, but add black rims, black belt covers and darker seats to create a uniquely aggressive appearance, whether on a landscaper’s trailer or a dealer’s showroom floor. They combine this new look with high-performance commercial engines, high-quality drive systems, rugged mower decks, and industry-leading warranties for years of reliable operation.

In addition to the updated styling, all RS Series models feature a fully mechanical, adjustable suspension seat for improved operator comfort and Zero-T drive tires for improved performance.

“BOB-CAT commercial zero-turns are well known for their adherence to durability, quality of cut, and ease of ownership above all else,” said Troy Blewett, director of marketing. “They’re high-performance commercial mowers, and now they have a new look to match.”

The new XRZ Pro RS is loaded with commercial-grade features that lawn care professionals require, all at a value-driven price point. For the 2018 mowing season, it is available three models, featuring powerful Kawasaki FX Series engines and a 48-, 52- or 61-inch mower deck. The BOB-CAT TufDeck Pro 10-gauge fabricated, welded and reinforced-steel mower deck includes the BOB-CAT patented Double Wave baffle system for maximum vacuum and lift. Hydro-Gear ZT-3400 twin hydrostatic transaxles offer smooth performance and agility. Commercial cutters will experience improved run times and productivity, thanks to dual fuel tanks with a 9.5-gallon capacity and a forward speed of up to 10 mph. And they can comfortably work all day, thanks to a high-back, fully mechanical, suspension seat with armrests.

“The new BOB-CAT XRZ Pro RS is our latest professional-grade mower built for the rigors of commercial mowing,” said Ron Scheffler, product manager for BOB-CAT. “Based on 60 years of engineering and manufacturing expertise, this latest addition to our zero-turn mower line comes loaded with commercial-grade features. Importantly, it combines superior value with the toughness and reliability customers have come to expect from BOB-CAT.”

The suggested promotional prices for the new XRZ Pro RS start at $6,799. Prices vary by dealer. Taxes, freight, set-up, and delivery are not included.

In addition, BOB-CAT introduced its commercial AirFX cutting system, which provides a better quality of cut and more uniform dispersal of clippings. The AirFX cutting system features a 5.5-inch deep-profile deck, which offers improved vacuum and grass processing; gapped baffles, which create more efficient airflow, resulting in better clipping dispersal, less clumping and improved deck cleanliness; and a bull nose design, which allows grass to spring back up before it reaches the cutting chamber for a cleaner cut. The AirFX cutting system will be available on BOB-CAT’s 52- and 61-inch ProCat and Predator-Pro commercial zero-turn mowers.

BOB-CAT also introduced a 21-inch commercial walk-behind mower designed to meet the demanding needs of professional landscapers. It is available in two self-propelled models — one with zone starting and one with a blade brake clutch (BBC). Powered by a 179-cc Kawasaki FJ180V KAI Series engine, the new mower uses a high-vacuum, cast-aluminum deck to maximize airflow and grass lift for a pristine cut.
