Walker Manufacturing holds third Walker Family Reunion

Walker Manufacturing Company, producers of the Walker Mower, held its third milestone production celebration July 13-15, 2018 in Fort Collins, Colo. The Walker Family Reunion event celebrated the production of Walker Mower #150,000, and marked 40 years since the creation of the first Walker Mower.

“We believe taking time to recognize achievements both big and small helps keep a company healthy and reminds us of our blessings,” said Walker President Bob Walker. “This celebration is also a reminder of the profound opportunity we have to impact others. We see business as multiplication of opportunity; our factory team is only a small part of the overall impact of this product when you consider our suppliers, distributors, dealers and the customers we are blessed to work with.”

The Walker Family Reunion consisted of several events including the Walker World Championship Obstacle Course, The Walker Advantage Driving Experience and Skills Challenge, factory tours, workshops, a family area, helicopter tours, tethered hot air balloon rides, games, various bands and two nights of entertainment.

“Our last reunion celebration was in August, 2008,” Bob Walker stated. “At the time, we had no idea our economy was on the brink of a downturn that would affect the Walker business significantly. It was a hard time to be an American manufacturer, but Walker distributors and dealers stayed focused and looking forward while many businesses were downsizing or closing. Likewise, our suppliers and customers dug in and worked hard in spite of the challenges.”

Walker thanked all the people who have invested themselves in the Walker product and who came together to make the reunion happen – especially Walker’s suppliers and volunteers.
