July wholegoods sales maintain strong showing
It was another month of wholegoods growth on average for U.S. OPE dealers, according to exclusive data for OPE Business magazine readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group. The latest data shows Same Store Sales results at U.S. outdoor power equipment dealerships for July 2020.
The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS products. The Same Store Sales data compares July 2020 vs. July 2019 wholegoods sales at 1,188 independent servicing OPE dealerships.
In the U.S., OPE dealership wholegoods sales at Constellation DMS dealerships experienced an average increase of 26% during July.
Dealers in the South region experienced an average 37% increase in wholegood sales to lead the nation in July vs. July 2019, while the West had a 25% increase. Dealers in the Northeast saw a 14% wholegoods sales increase during July on average, while dealers in the Midwest saw average wholegoods gains of 11%.
Canadian dealers had an average wholegoods sales increase of 16%.
The percentage breakdown by dealerships that were up vs. down in wholegoods sales for July is as follows:
West: 62% up; 38% down
Midwest: 59% up; 41% down
Northeast: 53% up; 47% down
South: 71% up; 29% down
USA: 64% up; 36% down
Canada: 57% up; 43% down
