Dixie Chopper launches new residential ZTRs for 2021 model year
Gibson City, Illinois-based Dixie Chopper has announced a new residential zero-turn series, the Zee 2 HP, and several new models for the 2021 model year.
The Zee 2 HP series is a high-end residential series designed for the rugged homeowner who needs more speed, power, and performance in a residential zero-turn mower. This new series includes 2 models, a 48-inch and a 54-inch deck option for more productivity.
All models come equipped with a 24 horsepower Kawasaki FR engine and driven with Hydro-Gear ZT-3100 series transaxles. The upgraded transmissions offer customers a commercial-grade drivetrain with serviceable filters, steel-cut gears, shock valves, and a charge pump for system protection and extended life. These transmissions in conjunction with larger 22-inch drive tires deliver ground speeds up to 8 mph.
The Zee 2 HP comes standard with a Dixie Chopper exclusive OCDC (operator controlled discharge chute) which allows the operator to open and close the discharge chute to prevent grass and other objects from exiting the deck. This feature not only minimizes the customer’s clean-up efforts, but provides additional safety to people and property in proximity to the mower.
“We are very excited to launch the Zee 2 HP series to our dedicated dealers and customers,” said Dan Samet, president of Dixie Chopper. “The base model Zee 2 continues to be an excellent performer at the dealerships, and we know the Zee 2 HP will follow in those footsteps.”
The Zee 2 HP also comes standard with a plush two-tone seat and ISO 360 Mount from Seat King to give the operator more comfort in rough lawns.
Dixie Chopper has also introduced its full 2021 product lineup, including updates to existing models including the Zee 2, Eagle, Eagle HP, and XCaliber zero-turns.
“Dad (Art Evans, founder of Dixie Chopper) always said you have to listen to the customer, they’ll usually tell you what you need to know,” said Warren Evans, national sales manager of Dixie Chopper. “We offered a very simplified model offering in 2020 as we re-launched the company, but our dealers expressed interest in more engine offerings for 2021.”
For 2021, Dixie Chopper has released several models powered with Kawasaki, Kohler, and Vanguard engines to ensure dealers have options to offer their customers with engine preferences. The company has always been known for high horsepower mowers. In true fashion, the company has increased the horsepower on several commercial models including two new models in the Eagle HP series powered with 40hp Vanguard Big Block EFI engines.
