U.S. OPE dealerships saw an increase in overall sales in April, according to data from Constellation Data Solutions. When compared to April 2020, same store sales results in April 2021 showed a 37% increase in overall sales.
Pulling from more than 1,200 OPE dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems and Charter DMS products, the composite data compares same store sales stats from April 2021 versus April 2020. The data is collected exclusively for readers of OPE Business.
The Northeast region considerably outperformed the rest of the country in April 2021, with Northeast dealerships reporting an impressive 73% increase in overall sales.
Data from other U.S. regions:
- Midwest dealers reported a 34% growth in overall sales in April 2021 vs April 2020;
- Dealers in the South showed 29% growth in overall sales; and
- Dealers in the West region experienced 28% growth in overall sales.
North of the border, Canadian dealers reported a 21% growth in overall sales for April 2021 versus April 2020.
States in each region are as follows:
Midwest: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin
Northeast: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont
South: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC
West: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming
