Service sales at U.S. OPE dealerships rose 60 percent in April 2021 compared to April 2020, according to data collected exclusively for OPE Business readers by Constellation Data Solutions.
The West region significantly outperformed the rest of the country, with dealerships in the West reporting an 84-percent increase in service sales.
Service sales numbers from other U.S. regions:
- Midwest dealers reported a 67-percent growth in service sales in April 2021 vs April 2020;
- Dealers in the Northeast region experienced a 60-percent growth in service sales; and
- Dealers in the South showed a 48-percent growth in service sales.
Canadian dealers reported just a 19-percent growth in their service sales for April 2021 versus April 2020, reports Constellation.
All regions indicated that service sales were up in April 2021 versus April 2020 – 76 percent of all U.S. dealers indicating this (see chart, above), while 81 percent of all Canadian dealers indicated service sales were up. By region, the Northeast led the way – 83 percent of dealers indicated service sales were up in April. Other regions: South 72 percent; Midwest 77 percent; West 73 percent.

West: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming
