OPE Business Powering the Success of Independent Servicing Dealers
OPE dealers in the United States saw a 9-percent uptick in overall sales in July 2021 vs. July 2020, according to the latest numbers provided by Constellation Data Solutions. Only the Western region experienced a sales decrease last month.
Overall dealership sales in the U.S., region by region:
- Midwest: 41-percent increase in July 2021 vs. July 2020;
- Northeast: 7-percent increase in July 2021;
- South: 1-percent increase in July 2021; and
- West: 18-percent decrease in July 2021.
Canadian dealers reported a 22-percent decrease in overall sales in July 2021 vs. July 2020.
Service sales led the way in July, with a 250-percent increase across the U.S. and a 23-percent increase in Canada. The Midwest region reported a substantial 1,027-percent increase in service sales in July vs. the previous year.
Wholegoods sales were up 3 percent overall in the U.S., with the Midwest (10-percent increase) and Northeast (9-percent) regions leading the way.
Parts sales were down 4 percent overall in the U.S. (down 20 percent in Canada), although the Northeast was a bright spot with a 4-percent increase in July 2021 vs. July 2020.

The data is pulled from more than 1,200 OPE dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems and Charter DMS products; the composite data compares same store sales stats from June 2021 versus June 2020.
