More than 10,000 UAW John Deere workers will remain on strike after voting down the tentative agreement that had been reached last week.

Approximately 55 percent of UAW workers voted against the second contract proposal. Ninety percent of members had voted down the first Deere contract offer on October 10.

“The strike against John Deere & Co. will continue as we discuss next steps with the company,” the UAW indicated in a statement. “Pickets will continue and any updates will be provided through the local union.”

Bloomberg.com reports that Deere stated the company is not returning to the negotiating table, and that the latest contract proposal was its final offer.
