The self-propelled XML11Z

Makita U.S.A. has introduced two new cordless lawnmowers, both models powered by two 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries.

The new models include the XML10CT1, a 36V (18V X2) LXT 21-in. Lawn Mower Kit (also available as tool only); and the XML11CT1, a 36V (18V X2) LXT 21-in. Self-Propelled Lawn Mower Kit (also available as tool only).

“From homeowners to pro landscapers, demand continues to grow for battery-powered alternatives to gas equipment,” says Mario Lopez, director of product, Makita U.S.A. “The Makita OPE System includes more battery-powered lawn mowers that give users lower noise, less maintenance, zero emissions and no fuel expenses. These two new mowers combine cutting performance with convenience features like less weight and folding handles, so they are ideal for garage or shed storage.”

Features on the new mowers include:

Extended run time, convenient storage: In push mode, the XML11 and XML10 will cut up to .55 acres using four 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries (four batteries come with the kit models); in self-propelled mode, the XML11 will cut up to .44 acres using four 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries (four batteries come with the kit models). Both mowers include folding handles to allow for upright storage in either a garage or shed.

Other features include variable cutting height, soft start for smooth start-ups and longer gear life, ball bearings in the wheels for a smoother drive, and a rubberized soft grip handle for comfort.

Efficient cutting, better durability: The 36V brushless motor delivers 3000 RPM for efficient cutting. The mowers are equipped with Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), a series of integrated seals engineered to channel away dust and water for increased durability and longer tool life.
