In February 2022, overall sales for U.S. OPE dealers rose 8 percent vs. February 2021 according to the latest numbers provided by Constellation Data Solutions. The South region led the way in February with an 18-percent increase overall sales.
Overall dealership sales in the U.S., region by region, for February 2022:
- South: 18-percent increase in overall sales in February 2022 vs. February 2022.
- Midwest: 4-percent increase in overall sales in February.
- Northeast: No change in overall sales for February 2022 vs. February 2021.
- West: 5-percent decrease in overall sales in February.
Canadian dealers reported a 27-percent decrease in overall sales in February 2022 vs. February 2021.
Wholegoods sales rose 8 percent overall in the U.S. in February vs. 2021 wholegoods numbers. The South region reported a 19-percent increase in wholegood sales, followed by the Midwest (6 percent increase); the Northeast and West regions both reported negative wholegoods numbers vs. 2021 (-5 and -6 percent, respectively). Canada was down 30-percent in wholegoods sales in February.
Parts sales were up again up 10 percent in the U.S. overall in February vs. this same time last year (same as last month). The South region reported an 18-percent increase in parts sales vs. 2021; the Northeast showed a 13-perent increase. Canada reported a 24-percent decrease in parts sales in February.
Service sales were down 3 percent in February vs. 2021 in the U.S. (down 7 percent in Canada). The South region was the only region to show positive service sales numbers (up 3 percent vs. 2021).
