June 2022: Parts Sales Lead the Way
Overall OPE sales in June 2022 were down 4 percent for dealers in the U.S., although parts sales remained on the positive side of the ledger for both U.S. and Canadian dealers, according to the latest numbers provided by Constellation Data Solutions
The West region showed a slight improvement last month (1 percent) vs. June 2021 in overall sales numbers, and the Midwest was even vs. the same time period last year. In Canada, sales were up 5 percent in June vs. last year.
Overall U.S. numbers:
- West: 1-percent increase in overall sales last month vs. June 2021.
- Midwest: Flat in overall sales.
- Northeast: 3-percent decrease in overall sales.
- South: 10-percent decrease in overall sales.
Parts sales exhibited positive signs – up 6 percent overall in the U.S. and up 18 percent overall in Canada. The Midwest showed the largest parts-sales increase in June 2022 vs. June 2021, up 10 percent.
Wholegoods sales were down 8 percent overall in the U.S. in June vs. this same time last year, with every region in the U.S. as well as Canada reporting negative wholegoods sales.
Service sales were down 7 percent overall in the U.S. in June, and down 5 percent overall in Canada. Only the Midwest exhibited a positive number here, up 4 percent.
