AEF debuts new Tractor Implement Management landing page
The Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) reports that it has launched a new Tractor Implement Management (TIM) landing page on its website. Comprising agricultural-equipment manufacturers and associations, the AEF works to improve compatibility of electronic and electric components in ag equipment across manufacturers, and to establish transparency about compatibility issues.
The AEF TIM functionality, launched in 2019, is the first functionality using a standardized, certified communication between tractor and implement, states the organization. As more and more manufacturers develop products with TIM, engineers, service and marketing people are looking for comprehensive information.
The new TIM landing page guides these groups through the topic and answers frequently asked questions. It explains the TIM feature, background and customer benefits. In addition, engineers can find relevant information for their implementation work, like PKI infrastructure, certificates and licenses as well as a Security Library. The new landing page also addresses the steps to bring the product to the market – production certificates, AEF Conformance Test and AEF ISOBUS Database.
The AEF database provides information about ISOBUS functionalities of individual products or of several selected products. It also allows users to check the compatibility of ISOBUS products. Users can determine:
- What are tractor and implement really capable of?
- Which functions of an implement can be operated with the ISOBUS terminal of a specific tractor?
- Can an existing terminal be used with a newly purchased tractor?
Registration for the AEF database is open to dealers as well as users (contactors, farmers, etc.) and manufacturers. Dealers can use the compatibility check to support sales conversations and advise customers, as well as speed up troubleshooting through customer service.
